Just before 1901, Australia consisted of six independent British colonies. copyright use was not popular, and if demanded British or other nationwide passports had been applied. In the nineteenth century, paroled convicts had been issued a style of inside copyright known as "ticket of go away", which enabled them to move freely among the colonies.[
